Terrence M. Rubino has actively practiced law in Indiana and Illinois since 1975. Terry's grounded upbringing has resulted in a strong work ethic that has inspired the rest of the Rubino Ruman legal team. His philosophy is to stay true to his beliefs, to work hard to accomplish his goals and to talk straight with colleagues and clients. He has a reputation as a polished trial lawyer who conducts honest, ethical cases.
Terry is an Indiana personal injury attorney who concentrates his practice in civil litigation, representing accident victims and their families in the federal and state courts. Many of his cases have been reported at the trial and appellate court levels, a testament to his sophisticated legal arguments. He is admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana.

We are saddened to announce that Saul I. Ruman, partner and mentor, passed away on August 16th, 2010 in Dallas, TX.
He leaves us with a vast amount of knowledge and a foundation for us to continue giving the best service to our clients.
Saul I. Ruman was a native of Gary, Indiana, in the Northwest Indiana region where he attended high school at Horace Mann. He began practicing law in 1952 and remained committed to assisting individuals and families in his hometown community throughout his practice.
Saul assisted a wide variety of clients during more than 50 years of practice. He accumulated several honors and awards and is considered a key opinion leader regarding personal injury practice.
Saul’s clients benefited from his depth of legal knowledge and experience. Based on his proven history of success, Saul built a reputation for providing his personal injury clients with the highest caliber of legal representation.
During his career, Saul had the honor of representing Senator Robert F. Kennedy, Charles O. Finley, and former Justices Alfred Pivarnik and Donald Hunter of the Indiana Supreme Court, but was equally dedicated to all of his clients regardless of position or economic status.

Originally from the Tampa Bay area, Andrew A. Crosmer earned his bachelor's and law degrees from Valpo University and has remained in the Northwest Indiana region since. He began practicing law in 1987 with one of the Northwest Indiana region's most established firms located in Hammond, Indiana.
Andrew spent the first 10 years of his career representing defendants and their insurance companies in civil litigation. He joined Terrence Rubino nearly 10 years ago to represent personal injury victims and individuals whose own insurance companies have refused to provide coverage.
He concentrates on all types of injury cases, including brain damage, truck and auto accidents in addition to slip, trip and fall cases.

Michael E. Polen, Jr. grew up in Highland, Indiana, where he continues to live with his wife Denise and their two children. After graduating from Highland High School, Michael served his community as a police officer for more than a decade. As an accident re-constructionist with the Highland Police Department, Michael led numerous crash investigations involving fatalities and serious personal injuries. Through his substantial law enforcement training, he learned the highly technical skills of gathering evidence, documenting serious accidents, analyzing causation and determining culpability. Upon being admitted to practice law, Michael focused his career on helping clients who have been wrongfully injured or killed because of the negligence of another. Michael’s wealth of experience with law enforcement and personal injury cases is critically important in assisting clients through the most challenging of circumstances.

Carla K. Pyle grew up in East Texas, where her father is a minister and her mother a school teacher and dyslexia specialist for the Texas Public School System. After graduating summa cum laude from East Texas Baptist University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Carla moved to the Northwest Indiana region to attend law school. Carla graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law magna cum laude and took class honors in Family Law Practicum and Children and the Law. Carla and her husband currently live in Crown Point, Indiana. In her time outside of working with Rubino, Ruman, Crosmer & Polen, Carla volunteers for the children's department of her local church.

Adam J. Sedia has deep local roots in Northwest Indiana — he was born and raised in Lake County, where his father sits as a magistrate in the Juvenile Division of the Lake Superior Court and his mother is from a prominent Calumet City family. Adam's impressive educational background includes Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry and English and a minor in Spanish, which he earned in four years with honors.
Adam graduated from DePaul University College of Law with a certificate in Intellectual Property Law with a focus on patents. While attending law school, Adam served on a law journal editorial board, worked as a research assistant to Professor John F. Decker and worked for GE’s in-house patent counsel in Niskayuna, NY. Among Adam's numerous achievements, he authored an often-cited article published in the Fall 2007 edition of the DePaul Journal of Art, Technology, and Intellectual Property Law.

Richard P. Long grew up in the south Chicago suburbs and has practiced law in Indiana and Illinois for more than a decade. Nicole M. Keith was born and raised in Northwest Indiana and graduated from Portage High School as the 2002 valedictorian. At University of Wisconsin-Madison, Nicole held various executive positions in her sorority and coached gymnastics while she earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Political Science. Nicole returned home to the Northwest Indiana region to attend law school at Valparaiso University School of Law, where she participated in the Sports Law Clinic and defended college, internationally competitive and Olympic caliber athletes involved in eligibility disputes and anti-doping arbitrations. Nicole currently lives in Portage, Indiana.

Jon Remijas has dedicated his 17-year career to helping individuals throughout Illinois recover compensation for injuries resulting from interstate trucking accidents, auto accidents, premises liability, animal control and recreational liability. He also represents contractors and suppliers in construction-related civil matters, including contracts and business litigation. Jon has obtained numerous personal injury verdicts and settlements that exceed $1 million.
Born and raised in Chicago, Jon continues to live in the Western Springs community of the Chicagoland area with his wife and three children and in close proximity to his seven siblings. Jon volunteers for Western Springs School District 101 and participates in Western Springs Historical Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars activities. He also coaches his children’s AYSO Youth Soccer, Western Springs Little League, Western Springs Youth Football League and YMCA programs and attends the local St. Johns Cross Church.

Lisa Misner-Skozen will be joining our firm as Co-Counsel as of October 1, 2012. Mindy J. Heidel is a Northwest Indiana Native who focuses her practice in all areas of family law. Using her experience as a wife and a mother, Mindy believes that her calling is to guide clients through some of the most difficult transitions in their lives. While in law school Mindy honed her litigation skills winning National Honors twice including an outstanding oralist award as part of her Environmental Moot Court Team, and with her partner winning the Loyola University Mock Trial Competition. Mindy remains active in her hometown of LaPorte serving on the Investment Committee of the Unity Foundation of LaPorte County and serving on the missions committee of her church. In addition to representing adults in Court, Mindy also represents children as a Guardian Ad Litem.
